Many legends are heard about the ancient Shivtirtha Malleswar in Mallarpur. Legend has it that the Pandava mother Kunti worshipped this Shiva. It is believed that King Mallanath built this temple in 1124 AD. Later 23 more temples were built in this temple premises. The well-known tantra saint Krishnananda Agam Bagish was buried here and his tomb in the cool shade of this temple premises is one of the highlights.

Fairs and Festivals: Rath and Chaitra Gajan temples also hold festivals and fairs every year. Besides, special pujas and festivals are held here on the day of Shivratri.

What to see? On the way from Sainthia to Mallarpur, one can visit the newly constructed temple with excellent architectural design. Besides, there is a chariot near the temple.

How to go: Mallarpur is very close to Rampurhat and Sainthia. Mallarpur railway station is also nearby and the temple can also be accessed from there.
